Promise Place wants to invite the community back to its 16th annual 5k Run & 1 Mile Walk to End Domestic Violence, Sat. October 24, but this time it is VIRTUAL.
This event raises money to provide safe environments for domestic violence victims through emergency shelter, legal advocacy, crisis counseling, and transitional housing.
A virtual run works the same as any other with one exception; it can be run (or walked) from any location, at any pace, inside on a treadmill or outside in another state. All you have to do is register and provide evidence that you have done it. That's it!
Early registration is $25 and increases to $30 for same-day registration. Medals and customized bibs will be provided for each participant who signs up by October 14th. For more information please contact Vanessa Wilkins at vanessa.wilkins@promiseplace.org or 770-461-3839 Ext 152 or register online at www.promiseplace.org.
Promise Place provides comprehensive domestic violence services to Fayette, Spalding, Pike, and Upson Counties including emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotline, crisis intervention, safety planning, legal advocacy, weekly support groups, children's programs, emergency needs assistance, and community education.
